The goal of Pawnee Offroad is to design, develop, and deploy military UTEVs that meet the specific requirements and operational needs of various armed forces units. The UTEVs developed will be versatile and reliable vehicles that support various military operations by enhancing mobility, flexibility, and effectiveness in combat and non-combat scenarios. Future developments prioritize hybrid/electric powertrains and autonomous operations.
Current surface vehicles for SOF fail to fulfill operator requirements. Current vehicles lack durability for austere environments. Internal Combustion Engines generate excessive noise and high thermal signatures, have high operations and maintenance costs, and suspensions that are not capable for mission needs.

Pawnee Off-Road won its first USAF Phase I STTR with an award value of approximately $110,000. This award provided an opportunity for Pawnee to work with members of the Air Force and develop a relationship with a customer to sponsor Phase II. The Phase II contract will be used to build a functional prototype of the vehicle base platform.
