Chas is CTO of food robotics startup Now Cuisine, and has leveraged decades of experience in technology and new product development to assist startups in the growing food and beverage automation market that he pioneered as Founder and CTO of Briggo Inc. Briggo introduced the first fully autonomous, remote order and pay robotic barista in 2011. His 12 years of leadership in building Briggo provides unique insight to those entering the space.
His consulting for founders and their teams spans topics from business models, development costs, break-even analysis and pitch decks, to technical approach, machine architecture, build and manufacturing approaches and costs.
Prior to founding Briggo in 2008, Charles (Chas) Studor was active in the technology industry for more than 25 years. Since 1981, Studor proved successful in various roles in the Semiconductor industry. Studor’s most recent role was Global IC Design Manager for a $1B business unit within Motorola/Freescale. Prior to this, Studor was the creator of the Austin Design Center for TriMedia (formerly Philips/Sony). Studor has 22 patents to his name.
Studor holds his BSEE/CE from The University of California at Santa Barbara. He is a past Board Chair of the Austin Children’s Shelter (now The Safe Alliance) at the time that they constructed a new $14.5M campus. Studor has also been very active with philanthropic work in central Honduras where his coffee passion began, and has been active on additional boards including The Salvation Army and is currently President of the board of Austin Helps Honduras.
