I grew up on a farm in Kirksville, Missouri. After moving to Springfield, Missouri for college, I founded Phelps Homes in 2004, Phelps Farm Service in 2009, and Red Barn Solar in 2016. While installing agricultural solar systems, I recognized the need for a new type of solar inverter that could use solar power more intelligently and efficiently. That realization became the inspiration for Vroom Power, which I founded in 2021. In addition, I founded PVPallet in 2019, a sustainable solar module shipping solution company, where I continue to serve on the board.
